Yes, kids do have fun at Scallywags, but I agree with Sharon, I would expect a kid friendly place to provide water....there are a lot better indoor play areas on the northside than this one.

I agree with Sharon and Michelle. They should allow you to bring water in and yes there are lots of bigger better newer play areas on the northside so if they don't change their ruling they will lose a lot of business. I'm looking for a birthday party venue and have just crossed them off my list because of this stance they are taking.

challenge them. take in your water and drink it in front of them.

they cannot stop you. it is legal to drink water.

don't let them bully you. if they ask you to leave, call their bluff. you are quite safe.

I used to work in a play centre on the south side. There should not be any problem with taking in water bottle. The problem is people bringing in other items like soft drinka and food which takes away from the establishments profit.

You will find most playcentres have a no outside food or drink policy.

And most of the centres charge for jugs of water. Could you imagine every 2 mintues a child coming up and asking for a drink. You would have to have a fridge dedicated to water jugs. Plus you can not give drinking water straight out of the tap to a customer with out chilling it first.

Put it this way. maybe they don't change for the water. Maybe they charge to clean the jug and your cups and the mess your kids make with it. to fill the jug and to chill the water. A business has to pay for excess water used on the premisis.

Check with their house rules, it should mention it, if you do not agree with the establishments policies- do not enter.

They do not have to supply your children with water. they simply have to supply it to purchase.

As for challanging the staff- appart from the fact that that is soooo rude. they have the right to ask you to leave and we have at times called the police to essort customers who are creating a nusience in a public place, over water.

Water bottles are ok in most play centres.
