The Portside Wharf Coffee and Chocolate Affair

The inaugural Portside Wharf Coffee and Chocolate Affair on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th of July is expected to draw thousands of coffee addicts and chocoholics to indulge their palette while learning and experiencing the joys of the fine flavours on offer.

The festival will feature a number of local and national coffee and chocolate producers and retailers alongside an array of local jazz and blues artists, a Brazilian band, chocolate body painting and sculptures, and a full master class program featuring diverse industry experts including an internationally renowned Swiss chocolatier.

The official program kicks off at 4pm on Saturday with musical acts including guitarist Robbie James, the Wiley Jazz Trio and Barb Fordham Quartet, all performing into the evening on a stage postioned on the wharf.

Restaurateurs will be offering coffee and chocolate fused menus and Dendy Portside will be screening chocolate themed films such as the original Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

The wharf springs back into action on Sunday July 27 from 10am with master classes and stallholders lining the river showcasing demonstrations, tastings and special purchase opportunities.

The stalls will be complemented with an extensive entertainment program on stage including a Brazilian band and African drummers, with chocolate body painting and live chocolate sculptures.

In the master class marquee Swiss born and trained Lindt Chocolatier Thomas Schnetzler is presenting a free appreciation course, Lavazza is presenting a coffee appreciation course, Byblos will offer a cocktail, coffee and chocolate matching class and Wilson’s Boathouse will present a specially-themed cooking class.

Access to the master class marquee is free of charge however seating will be limited.
