South Bank's recent and first Growers' Market was so popular that the markets will now be held quarterly and produce from the Granite Belt will be the highlight.

On market day, appreciative gourmands get in early to buy the best and freshest of what the Granite Belt has to offer.

The first South Bank Growers' Market was inundated by Brisbane foodies who were revelling in the opportunity to buy fresh produce from a local region, with many stall holders selling out in the first few hours.

"Having the Granite Belt Region at the South Bank Growers' Market is a great opportunity for the Brisbane community to support this local region which is rich with produce and high quality gourmet fare," said Mr Alexander, of South Bank Lifestyle Markets.

Stanthorpe is located in the heart of the Granite Belt of Queensland, and is situated along the border between NSW and Queensland. Renown for fruit growing and outstanding wine, the region is about 225km south-west of Brisbane.
