Busy and budget bistros sit next to swank and slinky restaurants and cafes in the increasingly popular dining precinct of Sandgate Road, Albion. Covering about 200 metres, there are a number of eating options.

There are many cuisines to choose from including; Italian, Turkish, modern Australian, Indian and Thai. For breakfast, grab a coffee and fantastic croissant from Brewbakers or enjoy the small dining pleasures of Darls.

Albion really comes to life at night. Some restaurants are closed Sunday and Monday nights but bookings are recommended on Friday and Saturday nights (especially at the popular Sitar). But you could take a chance and wander up and down the road to make your dining choice.

The precinct has its share of footpath dining although sitting next to the traffic didn’t seem very appealing. The Albion Hotel offers pleasant courtyard dining after extensive refurbishments to the Cucina Bar.

The long standing grandmother of Albion has to be Efes One, Brisbane’s first Turkish restaurant. Opened in 1994, its colourful, crowded setting is packed with people looking for a hearty meal at a great price. And you might be lucky enough to catch the belly-dancing.

Another place bursting with atmosphere is the Italian bistro Ciao Baby.
