Stroll along Park Road Milton, linking Milton Road and Coronation Drive, and you have the choice between glamourous bars, plenty of cafes, a steakhouse, Thai, Chinese, sophisticated Asian, pizza and more.

Park Road is reminiscent of a European cafe precinct, complete with mini Eiffel Tower. In one stretch of Park Road, the woven rattan chairs (just like Paris) join across three or four consecutive cafes. Each of them take a slice of the significant trade in business lunches, book club meetings, friends catching up and late night coffees or suppers.

There are also some more formal dining options, in places tucked away from the bustle and passing parade. For example, Embers Steakhouse has warm wood furnishings, at the back of the Savoir Faire complex. Park Road East was decorated by a feng shui expert in welcoming rich red tones and Joseph Alexander’s (at the Coronation Drive end of Park Road) is the only Park Road restaurant to boast Brisbane River views and a piano bar.

Interspersed among the many eateries are great bookshops, boutique clothes and shoe shops and lovely places to get homewares, exquisite paper or beauty treatments. Park Road is within easy walking distance of Suncorp Stadium and the street is packed out when there is a big game or event. Best to book in advance if you want a bite to eat pre-match. One of the most established of Brisbane’s cafe precincts, Park Road’s streetscape could do with a freshen up but the choice of eating places at all times of the day is consistently good.
