Shingle Inn's popular patty cake range has gone gourmet with the recent launch of gourmet patty cakes, an ‘injected' range of treats that extend beyond the iconic bakery café's traditional range.

Shingle Inn's Area Manager Karen Milne says the Gourmet Patty Cakes are injected with delicious fillings that add to the flavour and combine with the cake as customers bite into them.

"We've had two trials in-store and the new flavours sold exceptionally well."

That's no mean feat considering the popularity of Shingle Inn's traditional range. In 2005, the bakery café celebrated the sale of its ten millionth traditional patty cake. Two further stores have opened since then and the milestone of eleven million patty cakes is within reach by the end of this year.

"Patty cakes are our most popular product for customers to enjoy with their pot of tea or cup of coffee," says Mrs Milne, "We're very proud to have created a new version in keeping with the home-baked-style products we sell."

The new gourmet patty cake range includes lemon meringue, choc cherry, choc hazelnut, caramel & pecan and jam & coconut. Gourmet patty cakes are $3.40 each.

Shingle Inn is located at Macarthur Central and Brisbane Square in the CBD as well as Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, Westfield Chermside, Garden City, Logan Hyperdome and Westfield Helensvale.
