Mint Indian Gourmet takes a fresh new look at Indian dining with authentic cuisine and modern décor. The menu brings a new interpretation of north Indian cuisine to the city's discerning diners.

Flavour, colour and aroma are the inspiration for the unique dining experience at Mint, which aims to provide a feast for all senses.

Located on Brunswick Street just a few doors from the Judith Wright Centre and the Institute of Modern Art, and central to the Valley's business district, Mint is a sophisticated retreat in the heart of a bright, bustling, cheery, fashionable and eclectic community. The elegance and style of Mint is already a hot new discovery among corporate diners and the local trendy set for both lunch and dinner.

Exotic spices like mace, nutmeg and dried rose petals.Principals Sridhar Penumechchu (who created Saffron on the Gold Coast) and Varun Khanna have succeeded in creating an Indian restaurant with a difference, from its cool and contemporary décor to the exotic flavours of the menu itself. The mood at Mint is both relaxed and intimate, with pale shades of lemon, mint green and touches of blue immediately creating a calm ambience in contrast to the bustling outdoors, while the menu is adventurous in its blends of produce and spices.

Chefs Abu Tahir and Suresh Rathour have been brought from India to share their experience gleaned from the kitchens of the Leading Hotels of the World, to create a menu that focuses on the special essences of northern India blended in unique ways for a completely flavourful dining experience. While chef Rathour claims a repertoire of more than 150 tandoori recipes, chef Tahir creates his closely guarded recipes and melange of spice mixes for the curries.

One of the restaurant's signature dishes, a lamb raan, includes exotic spices and herbs in the marinade such as mace, nutmeg and dried rose petals to name a few and is marinated overnight before it is slow cooked to bring out its distinct flavours. This delicacy is just one of the featured dishes on the innovative gourmet menu, while curries and vegetarian dishes are given a fresh twist with imaginative combinations of produce, herbs and spices. Expect to be surprised too by new textures such as kebabs with the finest crunchy coating.

It is no surprise that Mint Indian Gourmet is already attracting good reviews and is fast becoming a popular destination for diners looking for something different to tempt their taste buds.

Don't just sit there, do something!
