The landmark Pineapple Hotel has come a long way since its opening in 1864 when named in honour of the many pineapple plantations that dominated the Kangaroo Point landscape of the early 1800’s.
Under the direction of Bob Singleton and his family, this historic pub delivers an impressive level of high-quality pub dining in their ‘Steakhouse’ restaurant. The casual and friendly atmosphere of this bistro has catered not only to the Kangaroo Point precinct but also to a much broader range of the community, from local business people, larger sporting enthusiast groups and family get-togethers.
The menu is – as the name suggests - primarily focused on steak, and the restaurant is a favourite with regulars who enjoy the distinctive taste of the renowned 1824 brand of prime aged steaks.
Head Chef David Cannon says, “We’re in the business of giving customers what they expect. Our patrons have come to expect a great Australian steak, matched with a fantastic wine list, so we make sure we only stock the best of the best prime aged beef, and utilise the freshest ingredients possible,” said David.
The ambient style of The Steakhouse works well for larger groups who want the mix of a great dining experience as well as the ability to order individually, and the proximity to the central CBD as well as the Gabba Stadium plus the ease of parking is a bonus for patrons.
