The Plough Inn Tavern is in a grand old South Bank historic building, established in 1885. It’s also one of Brisbane's better-known hotels. Situated in the heart of the South Bank Parklands, it’s surrounded by amazing gardens with commanding views of the city's skyline, the Brisbane River and South Bank Beach.

Here you’ll find traditional Aussie hospitality with live entertainment, ice-cold beers, sensational steaks, hickory smoked pork ribs and a good old-fashioned pub atmosphere.

In addition to the public bar which has been historically preserved, there’s the Beergarden – a truly Queensland experience. It’s the ideal place for a long lunch and there’s live music on the weekends.

If you’re after the perfect place to relax, try the veranda. It offers amazing views of South Bank, the Brisbane River and the Brisbane city skyline.

Situated in the heart of the South Bank Parklands. And if you’re into playing pool, this is the pub for you! Even if you don’t know your head string from your hand bridge or your stripes from your solids, the Sportsman’s bar is a great place to pass an afternoon with your friends.

If ghosts and mysteries interest you, the Plough Inn’s the place to visit. Do ghosts walk the hallways of the South Bank icon?

In the great floods of 1893 a young girl was trapped in the cellar during the watery up rise. The cellar is still used to this day, and there are staff members who claim they’ve seen a young girl in the cellar dressed in late 19th Century period clothing.

In the 1920’s a publican, whose name has yet to be located, murdered his wife on the very same balcony where many have stood before. She too has been seen wondering the hallways, herself looking for answers.

As a tribute to the hotel in all its glory, historical photographs have been placed in the hallways of the hotel. Step back in time to see the Plough Inn and its surrounding dockside as first built.

The Plough Inn is ideally located with easy access to bus, rail and city-cats with ample underground parking in the South Bank Carpark.
