Q: Bob, our group will be having a discussion on the Rain Forest Black Bean Tree. Would you know of any parks in Brisbane where the trees are planted?

I do know of one in Ashgrove but the local kids have knocked all the pods down to use as throwing practice. I would appreciate it if you have any knowledge on the whereabouts of this tree. Graham – Newmarket

A: Where else, but in Roma Street Parkland!!

We have several Black Bean trees (Castanospermum australe) growing in the Parkland.

Call in to the Parkland, go across to the information booth in Spectacle Garden in the Parkland, and speak to the Volunteer Guides there. They will be only too pleased to show you the trees.
