When its school holidays and you’ve got a bored teenager to amuse, what do you do? No, don’t give them wads of money to blow on video games...get them out and trying something new in the Chill Out activity program.
Brisbane City Council runs the incredibly popular school holiday program that offers hands-on fun and learning for 10 to 17 year olds. Regardless of their interests, there will be something they’ll want to try and do at Chill Out.
Plus, the fun happens all over Brisbane’s suburbs and the activities are really cheap (and sometimes free). Now that’s got to be good.
How about tempting your tween or teen with:
- African drum-making at Wooloowin
- Canoe explore at Shorncliffe and Graceville
- Introduction to drumming or guitar at Mt Gravatt
- Fishing at Nudgee Beach, Newstead, Brighton, Colmslie and Lota
- Making beats or hip-hop at Mt Gravatt
- Rock climbing at Kangaroo Point
- Songwriting at Mt Gravatt
- Salsa dancing at Milton

Chill Out is very popular so bookings are required. Select your top choices and call 07 3403 8470. They are open to all Brisbane residents and ratepayers.
Be assured all activities are supervised and conducted in a safe environment.
And why not check out the wilder side of Brisbane with Council's Get Wild program, or our feature on everything you can do over the school holidays.
