Steven Spielberg is reportedly in line to direct a film version of "The 39 Clues" after DreamWorks studio announced it had acquired movie rights to the book, internet and card game series.
The book, published by "Harry Potter" book publisher Scholastic, will be a multimedia product to be launched in September and will include a new series of 10 books, an online game and more than 350 collectible cards.
""The 39 Clues" takes creative leaps to expand the story experience from the pages of the books to multiple stages of discovery and imagination," Spielberg said in a statement. "We have the opportunity to develop this property that says 'film', 'family', 'fun' and 'franchise'."
