In Bruges
Movie details
Bruges, the most well-preserved medieval city in the whole of Belgium, is a welcoming destination for travellers from all over the world. But for hit men Ray and Ken, it could be their final destination; a difficult job has resulted in the pair being ordered right before Christmas by their London boss Harry to go and cool their heels in the storybook Flemish city for a couple of weeks.

Our review
A cleverly written and humorous script by renowned playwright and director Martin McDonagh, together with outstanding performances by Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson and Ralph Fiennes, results in one very brilliant film.
After a job goes horribly wrong, hit men Ray (Colin Farrell) and Ken (Brendan Gleeson) are ordered to leave London by their boss Harry (Ralph Fiennes) and hide in the fairytale city of Bruges for a couple of weeks - not realising that this beautiful destination may be their final destination.
While the dialogue in the film is not very PC, to say the least, it will be impossible not to laugh along with this very black comedy.
Farrell delivers an outstanding and believable performance as the not-so-bright Ray, while Gleeson is almost loveable as Ray's determined friend and fellow hit man. Ralph Fiennes, who appears towards the end of the film, also delivers a brilliant performance as their morally selective boss.
Along with the cast, the beautifully preserved medieval city of Bruges is another standout performer in this film. If you take one thing away from this film, it will probably be the urge to visit the stunning city.
Predictable is what this film is not. The film's characters - whether it's Ray or Ken's battles with their secret demons and conflicting morals, or the racist dwarf actor (Jordan Prentice), or the art-dealing gun supplier - are truly engaging from start to finish.
Despite the film's often-confronting violence, the outstanding performance by the cast, the beautiful backdrop of Bruges and a witty script makes "In Bruges" truly entertaining.
