Tours for kids

Tours of works in the Queensland Art Gallery Collection are offered for children aged 4–10 and accompanying adults. In September, October and November, the 25-minute
interactive tours explore the theme 'inside–outside’ in Australian art, looking at
unexpected notions of interior and exterior.

Location

The Queensland Art Gallery (QAG) is just a short walk across the Victoria Bridge from the Brisbane CBD. The QAG and the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) are located within easy walking distance of each other (150m apart), with entrances to both on Stanley Place. They are part of the Cultural Centre, close to the city centre and South Bank Parklands.

Paid parking is available at the following local car parks:
- Queensland Art Gallery/Queensland Museum Car park — enter from Grey Street or the Cultual Centre tunnel.
- Stanley Place Car park — enter from the Cultural Centre tunnel or Stanley Place.
- Queensland Performing Arts Centre Car park — enter from the Cultural Centre tunnel.

Bus
Alight at the Cultural Centre Busway in Melbourne Street. Chartered bus temporary set-down in Stanley Place.

 

Train
Alight at South Brisbane Station, corner of Melbourne and Grey Streets.

 

CityCat and Ferry
The CityCat and City Ferry terminals are located at South Bank 1 CityCate terminal.

 

Taxi
Set-down is available in Stanley Place, from Grey Street (both directions) and the Cultural Centre Tunnel. A Yellow Cab taxi phone is located in the foyers of both QAG and GoMA.

Accessibility

Mobility impaired and wheelchair access is available to both the QAG and GoMA. QAG wheelchair access is via the lift on the upper level of the Art Gallery carpark, via ramps at the front entrance from Melbourne Street, or via the street level entrance on Stanley Place, which is located between both buildings.

Gallery Dining


Watermall Café
The Watermall Cafe overlooks the new entrance to the Queensland Art Gallery that opens onto Stanley Place. The cafe is counter service and includes family-friendly menu options, with tempting treats for afternoon tea one of its specialities.
