"High School Musical" star Zac Efron has revealed he won't reprise his role as Troy for a fourth instalment of the Disney franchise.
Efron has played Troy in both "HSM" telemovies and the upcoming cinema release film "High School Musical 3: Senior Year", but told "The Daily Telegraph" during the recent London premiere that "this will be the last one... we're all in our senior year and have graduated."
"It is sad but we all have to grow up some time and now it is our time," he said. "We have saved the best for last - but this is definitely our last stop on the school trip."
Although Efron won't return as Troy, that doesn't spell the end for the "High School Musical" franchise: the latest film introduces new characters who could carry further sequels.
Despite not returning for "HSM", Efron will carry on with movie musicals and is making plans to star in the remake of "Footloose".
