Academy Award winning actress Helen Mirren has reportedly signed on to star in Julie Taymor's big-screen adaption of Shakespeare's "The Tempest".
In a twist, the Shakespearean play's lead character Prospero, an exiled duke-turned-sorcerer, has been changed to a woman so that Mirren can take on the role.
According to the "Hollywood Reporter", Geoffrey Rush is also reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of the film, which will be produced by Bob Chartoff, Lynn Hendee and Julia Taylor-Stanley and is scheduled to star filming in Hawaii in November.
