Despite her disastrous debut into film in 2001's "Glitter" Mariah Carey is taking on Hollywood once again with a starring role in new film "Push" alongside Dakota Fanning.
The singer will take on the role as a plain-jane New York social worker, which Carey has described as "small" but "important" to the film.
"I'm not going to be a pretty picture. The role's a supporting part - a little scene - but it's a very important scene," said Carey according to the San Francisco Chronicle, "I don't want to reveal what happens, but my character is important because things are revealed through her."
"Push" is scheduled for release in 2009.
