"Body of Lies" director Ridley Scott is reportedly teaming up with Universal Studios to make a big screen adaption of the popular Hasbro boardgame Monopoly.
The Monopoly movie, which will be penned by "Corpse Bride" screenwriter Pamela Pettler, won't be the only boardgame heading to cinema screens with a film based on the game Battleship in the works and "Transformers" director Michael Bay reportedly also working on a Ouija Board film.
Scott is reportedly going to apply a "Blade Runner-esque" feel to the Monopoly game according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Games giant Hasbro jumped at the opportunity to bring their popular boardgame to life after the success of their toys-turned-movie blockbuster "Transformers" was a worldwide hit.
