ENERGEX Playasaurus Place

This new space, developed in partnership with ENERGEX, features our much loved life-sized dinosaurs and a colourful exploration of the story of energy.

Packed with interactives and things to explore, ENERGEX Playasaurus Place focuses on a positive and sustainable future, whilst exploring energy, climate change, ancient animals and plants, and what we can do to make a difference and create a bright future.

Visitors can trace the story of energy throughout the ages, from the time when dinosaurs ruled the earth to the industrial revolution and through to today.

Rex the T rex

Meet our newest dinosaur Rex as he pops up all around the exhibition, inviting children to play, do, think and learn. Rex might be 65 million years old but still loves to have fun. See if you can find Rex when you visit!

Entry to the museum is free (except to some special exhibitions)

Opening hours

Open 9:30am to 5pm, seven days a week.

Except Good Friday, Christmas Day and ANZAC day morning - Open 1:30pm to 5pm ANZAC day, 25 April.

Parking

A public car park is conveniently located directly below the Museum. Pay on entry. Cash ($50 and $100 notes not accepted) and Credit Cards accepted. (No EFTPOS.)

Public transport

Queensland Museum South Bank is located within the Queensland Cultural Centre in close proximity to South Brisbane railway station, the Cultural Centre Busway and South Bank CityCat and Ferry terminals.
