The Museum is located on the banks of the Brisbane River, at the southern end of the South Bank Parklands and next to the Goodwill Bridge.

Admission

Child $3.50, Adult $7, Concession $6, Family $16 (includes 2 adults and up to 3 children under 15)

Opening hours

Open 9.30 am to 4.30 pm (last entry 3.30 pm)

Closed 24 December to 26 December and Good Friday, reduced opening hours occur on Anzac Day.

Parking

Paid Parking is available within walking distance to the Museum. Parking stations are located:

- Queensland Art Gallery/Queensland Museum car park. Enter via Grey Street or the Cultural Centre tunnel. For information on parking fees, telephone (07) 3840 7103.

- Queensland Performing Arts Centre car park. Enter via the Cultural Centre tunnel. For information on parking fees, telephone (07) 3840 7103.

- Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Enter via Stanley or Merivale Streets. For information on parking fees, telephone (07) 3308 3000.

- South Bank Parklands Underground car park. Enter via Tribune or Little Stanley Streets, South Bank. For information on parking fees, telephone (07) 3867 2051 or Visit South Bank

Public transport

Buses: Frequent bus services to numerous Brisbane southern and south-eastern destinations pass the Museum. Disembark at Mater Hill or South Bank bus stops.

Ferries: Ferry services run from the City and many suburbs along the Brisbane River. Disembark at South Bank jetty.

Trains: Trains on the Beenleigh and Cleveland lines also pass the Museum. Disembark at South Bank (previously Vulture Street) Station.

Walk: Visitors staying in city accommodation may like to enjoy a leisurely walk from the city, through the Queensland University of Technology and across the Brisbane River on the pedestrian only Goodwill Bridge.

Accessibility

The majority of the Museum has disabled access. Ramp or lift access is available to all exhibition spaces within the main museum building, and to the grounds (although rough ground in places). However by their nature, disabled access onto Diamantina is restricted to the main deck while no disabled access is possible into the dry dock.
