Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art
Experience Australian and international art in its many forms at Brisbane’s Queensland Art Gallery and new Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA). The architecturally acclaimed buildings are located at South Bank overlooking the Brisbane River and the city.
GoMA is Australia’s largest gallery of modern and contemporary art, and focuses on the art of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Works from the Australian, International, Asian and Pacific collections are shown in dramatic spaces designed specifically for contemporary art.
Two galleries are devoted to contemporary Indigenous Australian art, one showcasing Queensland’s unique Indigenous art.
The original Queensland Art Gallery building presents works from its historical and early modern collections, as well as rare historical Asian art treasures.
Attractions at GoMA also include film screenings at the Australian Cinematheque, the first of its kind in an Australian art museum, as well as innovative and interactive programs just for kids in the Children’s Art Centre.
