Di Cant, fashion stylist, recently spent time exploring the shopping options on Oxford Street Bulimba. Yes, Oxford Street is well known and popular for dining but also well worth a few hours shopping. Here's what she uncovered:

I started with a browse around the interesting Riverbend Books and tea house. After a delicious cup of tea, I crossed the road and entered the first of many interesting fashion boutiques.

Ukko shoes - We shoe lovers always walk into a new shoe shop we discover on our travels and this one is sure worth your while visiting. One of the unusual brands of shoes in this store is BC - a brand from the USA. I particularly loved the round toe flat sandal in soft camel or in green leather $119. Another label I know will do well for UKKO shoes is 'Gracious Me', stylish shapes in shoes and bags and right on trend.

Two fabulous deep sack style bags caught everyone's eye. Uno duo dei bags priced at $129. he clutch bag is number one for the season, so check out the shiny patent and satin envelopes.

Costume jewellery is always popular, but never more so than this summer. The store's collection is from Valeska who recently won an FAA award for jewellery. There are some very noticeable pieces, especially those big chunky neckpieces, great for wearing on that little shift dress or perfect on a swimsuit and sarong for holidays.

Marg K Boutique - This dynamic chain of retail boutiques stocks over 20 great fashion labels including Necowa, Gerry Webster, Miss Sixty, Verge, Lisa Ho and Rebecca Thomson at the Bulimba store. I buy my Lisa Valli italian jeans from Marg K. You can find great shoes, bags, accessories and jewellery to add an individual signature to your look.

Fuel Clothing Co - Right next door to Marg K. Fuel is young and funky. No wonder it was packed with young guys and girls looking for what is hot and hip. Fuel stocks street wear, Havaianas, groovy tees, shorts, surf wear, hats, Ruca shirts and skate boards. The hot piece I spotted was a pair of white cotton tie-front beach pants by Tigerlily. at $129.

Fiera Jewellery, Gifts and Interiors - Wow! what a treasure trove for bag hunters. A Spencer & Rutherford pink print clutch bag caught my eye first. The pouchy green leather 'Baby Beth' bag is perfect at $219. I loved the collection of Thomas Sabo of Germany sterling silver jewellery, with Swarovski crystals and other semi precious stones.

Green Grass Home & Body - This lovely store specialises in handbags, gifts, homewares and clothes . The Katie Hosking dresses look great for the coming summer.

Etre - This is one of the popular Etre chain of boutiques stocking good quality mid-market brands in fashion and some amazing accessories. Especially loved the licorice allsorts necklaces - how stunning will they look on swimwear and sundresses this summer?

Stephanies Urban Spa - This address is famous for exquisite pedicures, manicures and skin therapy.

Little Red Dress - Little Red Dress is at the far end of Oxford Street, towards the City Ferry stop and was the best surprise of all. Sasha Griffin and Rachel Woloschuk are the dynamic duo responsible for this exciting boutique. I was delighted to find some newer and younger labels for all those yummy mummies.

The girls have bought very well for a Queensland summer - brands like Hussy with maxi dresses and gorgeous little cut away dresses by CITI and Maggie by Margo. The Merle and Maud was most impressive (designed in Brisbane, made in Vietnam) with reasonable prices and great new summer attitudes in shorts, tops and dresses.

Little Red Dress stocks shorts, dresses, tops, jeans, and a very diverse selection of accessories and costume jewellery.

[Please note: Little Red Dress boutique is now located nearby at: 204 Riding Road, Balmoral]
