Athleisure designer Lorna Jane Clarkson gives green the thumbs up in her latest range which features a collection of organic and environmentally friendly styles.
The activewear guru, who is passionate about health and wellness, is also an avid environmentalist, keen to protect the health of our planet. Lorna encourages people to remember that it's the small changes we make in our everyday lives that will make a huge difference overall.
"How we go about our daily lives has a transformative effect on the rest of the planet. Each of us can make a significant difference with the little choices we make - what we eat, how we shop, being conscious of waste, and now we can make choices about what we wear", she says.
Conventional cotton farming techniques use harmful chemicals that end up in our riverways, soil, and eventually on our skin. Pesticides, fertilisers, herbicides, growth regulators and defoliants used in the growth and harvesting of cotton crops result in toxic runoff into ground water, are poisonous to humans and wildlife, and affect natural biological systems.
As part of an ongoing commitment to support sustainable farming, Lorna Jane has incorporated organic cotton in her range. Organic cotton, as well as being kinder to the planet, has the added benefit of being gentler on the skin.

Designed for balance programs such as yoga and pilates, the organic cotton used ensures the singlet is durable and long-lasting.
Organic headbands
These headbands (pictured) are great for yoga, and the pesticide-free cotton won't trigger skin allergies on your face, where the skin is much more sensitive than the rest of the body.
Eco-friendly yoga mat
Most yoga mats are made form PVC (polyvinyl chloride), a highly toxic plastic. The Lorna Jane yoga mat is made from TRP (thermal plastic rubber), an eco-friendly material which is 100% PVC and chloride free.
