Spotlight on the designers
Look out for the retro fabrics, cotton and silks of Ra Ra Superstar. Kathy Szwedzinksi lived previous lives as a fashion writer, New York-based stylist, owner of a vintage store in Bondi and now mum. Her Ra Ra Superstar designs are wearable, quirky, fun and designed for Brisbane's climate.
With summer looming, don't miss the fresh swimwear designs by Kylie McQueen. Her influences include Andy Warhol, Florence Broadhurst and her grandma - for their talent and individuality. Describing her swimwear as stylish, sporty and structured, McQueen credits the beach, friends, music and fabric for her inspiration.
If you're after edgy but feminine pieces then don't miss the Maleia fashion brand. Created by Marissa Tsiantas and her business partner, Liane, their collection is described as girly, edgy, quirky and spontaneous. Emphasising the quality of their product they use all natural fibres, such as cotton or a silk/cotton blend.

The Young Designers' Market is located in the heart of South Bank's restaurant precinct, on Ernest Street, between Grey and Little Stanley streets. The next Young Designer Markets are on this Sunday 7 September at South Bank from 10am until 4pm.
