Did you know there's a secret garden in the middle of the city?

The Book Garden, inside The American Book Store on Elizabeth Street, is a treasure trove for children. And parents will enjoy the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing coffee and cake in the store’s Caffe Libri while their kids discover a new world of books.

Specialising in home-grown Brisbane authors and illustrators, The Book Garden plays host to a range of literary events where children can meet their favourite writers. The store also offers a range of free events, including a creative writing workshop which welcomes beginners to advanced writers, on the second Friday of every month.

Stocking books catering to all ages, from your child’s first book through to children’s novels and school text books, The Book Garden and The American Book Store specialise in making education fun.

As part of Brisbane’s Better Bookstores, The Book Garden and The American Book Store are proud to be independently owned and family-run bookstores.
