Acacia Ridge named after the acacia trees of the area is an older suburb in Brisbane's south.

During World War II Australian, Dutch, British and American warplanes warplanes used Archerfield Airport, which later became home to major airlines of the time including Qantas, TAA and ANA.

Houses are mainly post-war weatherboard with some newer townhouses. Major nearby shopping centres include Sunnybank Hills Shopping Centre offering some of the best Asian cuisine in Brisbane and Garden City, one of Brisbane’s major suburban shopping centres.

Acacia Ridge is home to Iceworld Olympic Ice Rink at 179 Beaudesert Road and there is a local library at Coopers Plains.

Another major local attraction is Karawatha Forest, one of Brisbane’s largest areas of bushland with 9 kilometres of walking tracks. Among the many species of wildlife found there are red necked wallabies and sacred kingfishers.
