Ashgrove is an older suburb of Brisbane near Ithaca Creek with many famous Queenslander style houses and historic buildings still in existence.

The heritage listed Glen Lyon House at 34 Glenlyon Drive, Ashgrove is an example of the early housing and history of the suburb.

There are many parks and recreation areas in Ashgrove and a drive through The Gap to Mt Nebo is the perfect way to escape the city on the weekends.

Ashgrove and neighbouring suburbs of Bardon, Red Hill and Paddington are also perfect places to spend a few hours exploring boutique, antique and specialty shops.

Ashgrove is about 5km from Brisbane’s CBD. Over 46% of households in this area consist of couples with children, and another 35% consist of couples without children. Stand-alone houses make up nearly 80% of the dwellings in this area, and units account for just over 14%. The area is known for Ashgrovian houses – large, beautifully renovated Queenslanders on generous blocks – but there are also workers cottages and modern unit blocks.
