Balmoral is a beautiful suburb in Brisbane's east, sitting just back from the river.

Many homes have city views and there are stately old Queenslanders sitting comfortably alongside contemporary designs.

In Pashen Street, Balmoral stands the tiny heritage listed former fire station built in the 1920s and used as a fire station until recent years.

With Oxford Street shopping precinct at Bulimba right next door Balmoral is ideally situated.

Residents have a number of schools to choose from and there is a library at Bulimba too.

Many of the well known features of the local area have the Balmoral name but are actually situated in surrounding suburbs.

There's the historic Balmoral Cemetery in Morningside and the Balmoral Hotel and Balmoral Cineplex in Bulimba. Balmoral movie-goers also have the Hawthorne 3 in Hawthorne Road closeby.

There are several lovely big parks around Balmoral as well as Colmslie Beach Reserve, a popular recreation area.

Balmoral is about 4km from Brisbane’s CBD. Over 38% of households in this area are comprised of couples with children, 17% are single parent families and 12% are lone person households. Units account for only 19% of dwellings in this area, while stand alone houses account for over 70%. This suburb has a lively café precinct and offers quality housing close to the city.

Linda says: A cosmopolitan atmosphere with lots of eateries serving everything from coffee to restaurant food. Everyone is relaxed and go out to enjoy themselves.

There are many small shops around Balmoral and you’re close to Oxford Street – the café and retail centre of Bulimba. There’s also Morningside Central on the corner of Junction and Wynnum Roads.
