Welcome to Durack
Durack in Brisbane's west was known for farming in the 1880s and named after Michael Durack, a well known and well respected landholder at Archerfield. It is still a semi-rural area but much residential development has taken place in recent years.
Educational facilities include the Bremer Institute of TAFE in Inala, the Durack State School and the Brisbane Muslim School in Blunder Road.
Another feature of Durack is the Canine Control Council Dog Showground in King Avenue, where dog shows are held almost every weekend.
Residents are also handy to facilities in the neighbouring suburbs of Inala and Forest Lake.
