Eagle Farm is an industrial suburb on the Brisbane River. Formerly the home of Brisbane Airport, Eagle Farm will forever be associated with aviation history including famous flights by Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, Bert Hinkler and Amy Johnson.

In 1926 QANTAS commenced operations at Eagle Farm and during World War II the airport was used by American forces. The airport operated until 1988 with the opening of the new airport on the site of the former suburb of Cribb Island.

In the 1830s part of the site of the old airport was a convict and agricultural settlement known as Eagle Farm Women's Prison and housing a small number of female convicts.

The suburb name is also synonymous with horse racing. The Eagle Farm Racecourse in neighbouring Ascot was established in 1863 and is home of the Queensland Turf Club.
