Profile
Ellen Grove is a semi-rural and still developing suburb next door to the planned residential development of Forest Lake and has many opportunities for people interested in acreage lifestyle in a bushscape environment. However, the suburb has seen new residential developments over the last few years.
Buyers - the majority are families - will find a cross section of properties available. Older style lowset fibro and highset brick homes are available around the older parts of the suburb on acreage lots.
For those looking for something more modern, recently built, four-bedroom brick homes are available in areas of the suburb bordering the Forest Lake development.
With limited facilities within Ellen Grove, residents are dependent on the Forest Lake development for schools, retail and some public transport.
According to the 2001 Census there were 3,326 people living in the suburb with a median age of 31. The median individual income was between $400 and $499 per week. Of all occupied private dwellings 69% were either fully owned or being purchased; 27% were being rented.
