Fairfield is an ideally situated suburb close to the city but with added attractions of its own shopping centre, library and railway station and close proximity to the Brisbane River.

In addition to sharing the services and facilities of neighbouring southside suburbs, Fairfield is only a short drive to the western suburbs such as Indooroopilly which can offer a good alternative and scenic route around Brisbane.

The Eleanor Schonell Bridge (also known as the Green Bridge) at Dutton Park next to Fairfield also offers easy bus, bicycle and pedestrian access to St Lucia and the University of Queensland.

There is a popular skate park suitable for beginners and experienced skaters at J F O’Grady Memorial Park on the corner of Home and Brougham Streets.

Fairfield is also home to the RSPCA Animal Shelter so if you are looking for a pet to share your life be sure to check here, as there are lots of adorable dogs, cats and other little creatures in need of adoption by good owners.
