Welcome to Greenslopes

Early white settlers in Greenslopes and Stones Corner when the area was still dense forest were mainly German immigrants. James Stone after whom Stones Corner was named purchased the area from Frederika Klumpp in 1875.

Stones Corner today is one of Brisbane’s most  popular shopping precincts specialising in factory outlet fashion.

Greenslopes is well served with public transport and is part of the south east busway.

There is a Queensland Transport  Office for vehicle licence renewal and registration at the Greenslopes Shopping Mall, 700 Logan Road.

One of the best known landmarks is the Greenslopes Private Hospital which originally opened in 1942 as a military hospital.

Greenslopes is also well known for ten pin bowling with an AMF bowling centre at  3 Chatsworth Road.

Greenslopes is about 6km from Brisbane’s CBD. Over 45% of households in this area are comprised of couples without children and a further 31% are couples with children. Stand alone houses account for 46% of all dwellings in this area, with units accounting for a further 41%. Greenslopes is an older, well-established area and has easy access to the city.

The median house price in Greenslopes in 2006 was $400,000.
