Indooroopilly in Brisbane's west is home to two major landmarks - the Walter Taylor Bridge connecting Indooroopilly and Chelmer and Indooroopilly Shoppingtown one of Brisbane's earliest major shopping complexes and still one of the most popular today.

Its close proximity to the University of Queensland makes it an attractive suburb for professionals and students and busy Moggill Road connects Indooroopilly to the western suburbs of Kenmore, Brookfield and Moggill.

There are beautiful homes and parks by the river and Indooroopilly Island is occupied by flying fox colonies, which can even be heard and seen from across the bank at suburbs such as Graceville.

Standing parallel to the Walter Taylor Bridge are a railway bridge and a bridge exclusively for cyclists.
