Mt Gravatt East is an ideally situated residential suburb with close access to the many excellent facilities of its neighbouring suburbs, Mt Gravatt and Carindale.

There are a number of nearby parks including Chester Park Reserve, a large area of natural bushland between Margate and Crew Streets.

A nearby landmark of the area is the Mt Thompson Memorial Gardens and Crematorium, established in 1934 and set in beautifully landscaped surroundings in Nursery Road.
