Nudgee Beach
Postcode: 4014 | Distance to CBD: 12 km
Welcome to Nudgee Beach
This little treasured hamlet beside the bay seems a million miles from other Brisbane suburbs, separated as it is from 'civilisation' by the Boondall Wetlands Park and Gateway Motorway.
Consisting of only five streets in its borders, Nudgee Beach is a loved destination for dogs that love the water and fishermen who launch their boats into Moreton Bay. A great bike track (Boondall route) winds its way to the beach too and it's a popular spot for riders to take a break, buy an ice-cream and look at the water. Along the ride, you can admire the shots (or not) of the golfers at the Nudgee Golf Course.
Nudgee Beach has its own environmental centre that teaches children from all over the region about wetlands and their management.
The old beach shacks of the area are fast becoming slick and modern beach chalets although a few old-timers remain.
