Welcome to Robertson
Tucked away between Griffith University's Nathan campus and the best Asian food in Brisbane, is the Brisbane suburb of Robertson. The suburb was named after Doctor William Nathaniel Robertson, a medical practitioner and Vice Chancellor of the University of Queensland from 1926-38.
Homes in Robertson tend to be huge - many of them with palace-like dimensions. They are predominantly brick houses and many of the streets are lined with palm trees and poincianas.
Robertson has a primary school, retirement village, shopping centre and cinema complex. The suburb is known for its fabulous Asian food, courtesy of its proximity to Sunnybank, which has the best eating precincts for anyone who likes Yum Cha and Chinese food.
Residents are also close enough to the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre (formerly known as ANZ Stadium) for easy access to big events.
Statistics
Robertson is about 12km from Brisbane’s CBD. The area is strongly multi-cultural with fantastic Asian supermarkets and it’s very family focussed. Most of the dwellings are stand-alone houses, many built in the 70s and now being renovated. Generally the homes are large and well suited to family life.

Smantha says: I am so close to the best uni in Australia, Griffith. Everything is so handy. I walk outside my house and there is a bus stop. The buses take me all around Brisbane but I am happiest right here in Robertson, the suburb to learn things I'll use for the rest of my life.
