Welcome to Salisbury
Salisbury was once known for its timber industry and farming and later during World War II played an important role with aircraft testing and munitions plants. At least one such building still exists today on the corner of Chrome and Commerce Streets and the site of the Salisbury Hotel was used for aircraft testing.
Salisbury still has a lot of industry and commerce but is a popular residential area too being close to the city, major shopping centres, schools and transport.
Toohey Forest is only minutes away from Salisbury and driving to and from Salisbury along Toohey Road has a real country drive atmosphere.
Other major features of Salisbury are nearby Griffith University and the QEII Hospital.
