Tucked between Toowong and Indooroopilly is the green and peaceful suburb of Taringa. Winding streets, plenty of trees and shade, older homes sitting shoulder to shoulder with new units and a friendly atmosphere make Taringa one of the most popular Brisbane suburbs.

There's a stretch of popular shops on Moggill Road, including an excellent pet shop that caters for all your aquarium needs.

Eateries include the wonderful Azabu restaurant where you can sit at a sushi bar and watch your chef prepare your food, or sit at a table and have your hot meal cooked in front of you. There’s also Earth n Sea and Montezumas along with a host of other friendly eateries.

Taringa is only a few minutes drive from Indooroopilly Shoppingtown and Toowong Village and also close to the University of Queensland and public transport.

Nearby Perrin Park is popular for picnics and cycling.

Taringa is roughly 5km from Brisbane’s CBD. There’s a mixture of household types in this area – 29% are couples with children, 19% are group households and 16% are single person households. Over 54% of dwellings are units and 34% are stand-alone houses. There’s a range of housing styles in this area and you’ll find timber and tin workers cottages, older brick units, beautifully restored colonials and some brick housing. Block sizes are small to medium sized.

Shirley says: Taringa has the best of both worlds. Here we have the beauty of the older Queensland houses and the new unit living of today. I moved into the area l2 years ago and love living here as it has the inner city feel but with lots of green areas and parks, great old trees and a very quiet suburb.
