Tarragindi, a green leafy suburb in Brisbane's south, has the best of both worlds as it's close to the city and South Bank, yet right next door to Toohey Forest.

There's a great mix of wonderful old houses, including Queenslanders, with some new, architecturally designed homes popping up among them.

Possums and birds seem to love Tarragindi as much as the residents do and the suburb is a lovely mix of young families, couples and older people who've lived there for years. There are plenty of smaller suburban parks and a dog off-leash area at Shaftesbury Street. Other features include the Tarragindi Tigers soccer club, lawn bowls clubs and two schools.

The major shopping centres of Garden City and Carindale are only a short drive away. There are lots of smaller shopping centres close by and a number of libraries to choose from too. Neighbouring Annerley has fascinating antique and second hand shops. Stones Corner famous for its factory outlet shopping and the Mt Gravatt Homemaker Centre are also close by.

There are three nearby hospitals - Princess Alexandra Hospital, Greenslopes Private Hospital and QEII. During World War Two there was even an American military hospital at Ekibin. An ANZAC Day service is held at the Ekibin Memorial Park, Cracknell Road each year.
