Welcome to Tennyson
For many years this suburb's most famous landmark was the Tennyson Power Station. Now on the same site is Tennyson's new landmark - the Queensland Tennis Centre.
Tennyson is a beautiful suburb with majestic riverfront houses along King Arthur Terrace and there's also a very popular spot for picnics, walking and cycling a little further west of the Tennis Centre near the Pamphlett Bridge.
Across the river is Indooroopilly Island and its flying fox colony can be seen and heard quite clearly even during daytime.
From Tennyson it's only a short drive to Indooroopilly and the western suburbs and in the other direction it's close to the southern suburbs and Ipswich Road. Tennyson also has its own railway station.
