Scheherazade

The magic and music of the East comes to Macgregor as Scheherazade delights the senses with exotic foods, belly dancing and fantastic music from Australia and around the globe.

The day's performance includes roots and Middle Eastern musicians Raz Bin Sam and the I Lion Band, funk fusion group Camoon, Middle Eastern meets Mediterranean act Muziz and many more. Let the rhythm take you to another land as you listen to the mystical tapestry of world music and Middle Eastern fusion sounds.

Take part in music workshops and get to know the local Middle Eastern community as they share their culture through demonstrations, story telling and performance.

Food and beverages will be available for sale from a variety of stalls.

Drumming, belly dancing and kite making workshops will run throughout the day.

Presented by Brisbane Festival 2008 and Brisbane City Council with MacGregor Ward.

Scheherazade is part of the Origin Across Brisbane programme.
