Circus troupes have criss-crossed Queensland from the earliest days of the colony, travelling from place to place and performing wherever a crowd would gather.

Discover the amazing remnants of their travels as you explore the John Oxley Library’s circus books, photographs, posters, flyers, newspaper clippings, programs and more.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, delve even deeper as librarians talk about the collection items.

Plus, check out the huge range of exciting circus activities and carnival fun at the State Library all through January.
