Be prepared! Ensure you and your family have an excellent time at this year’s Brisbane EkkA, with a little forward planning. Here are a few ideas which mean you can relax and enjoy the Show…
Save queuing, buy your entry tickets in advance. Take advantage of the new online ticketing introduced this year. Alternatively, get your tickets from QR rail stations, as well as many Australia Post stores.
Save money with cheaper entry. RACQ members can get 15% discount if they buy from the organisation. Seniors will save $4 if they head to the EkkA on the Seniors’ Days – Thursday 7 & 14 August.

Take a hat, jacket and sunscreen – be prepared for all types of weather. Temperatures vary between a sunny midday and cool night. Check the weather before leaving home.
You can use EFTPOS to buy tickets at the gates. There are nine ATMs on site and EFTPOS facilities at all bars.
Want to avoid the afternoon rush at the showbag pavilion? Then pick up your showbags when you first arrive. Downside – you need to carry them with you, upside – you can eat the goodies inside them all day! Or, spend a few bucks and hire a locker for the day.
If you want to see one of the fashion parades, get in early as they are hugely popular.
Don’t eat too many dagwood dogs or strawberries and ice-creams before going on the scary rides. Why? It could get ugly.
If you must take the car, park legally! Don’t think you won’t get a fine because EkkA is on. Inspectors will be out in force. Save the stress and take the train right into the grounds or catch a bus. Translink have all the special EkkA service details.
If taking small children to the EkkA, write your mobile number on a tag or write it on their arm. If they get lost you can easily be contacted and reunited.
Don’t let the threat of germs stop you enjoying the Show. Use anti-bacterial hand wash gel (no water required) to keep the nasties at bay.
