Despite a huge opening box-office weekend in the US, the latest Bond film "Quantum of Solace" has failed to beat "Bourne" spy franchise film "The Bourne Ultimatum".
According to reports by E!Online, final weekend box-office numbers for "Quantum of Solace" were revised (originally reported as $70.4 million) and its opening debut only reached $67.5 million. Matt Damon's "The Bourne Ultimatum" earned $69.3 million in its opening weekend, making it Hollywood's top-opening spy adventure.
However despite losing in the weekend box-office number, Bond could still beat the "Bourne" franchise, if it exceeds "Ultimatum"'s $227.5 million overall domestic gross, however it will take quite some work from the latest Bond film with no Bond film ever reportedly coming close to earning $200 million.
