Giselle

Imagery from Giselle

Since its 1841 debut in Paris, Giselle has become one of the world’s favourite ballets.

Giselle, a simple peasant girl, falls in love with Albrecht, a Prince in disguise who visits her village. When the deception is revealed a broken heart leads to madness and the grave. Joining the Willis – the ghosts of spurned lovers – she visits Albrecht to exact retribution.

This is one of the real show pieces of classical ballet; steeped in history, beautifully staged and full of demanding, traditional dancing. Do not miss this spellbinding tale of love and deception.
