Queensland Premier's Drama Award play reading - 25 Down
The Queensland Premier’s Drama Award provides a unique opportunity for the professional development of aspiring Queensland playwrights as the only playwriting competition in the country that guarantees a fully-staged production of the winning play by a professional theatre company.
As one of the competition's three finalists, Richard Jordan's 25 Down will be produced as a moved play reading.
25 Down is a heartfelt comedy about the deep divisions between Brisbane’s gay community - between a generation desperate to be looked at, and one which fought to be heard. James is a 25-year-old artist with no immediate prospects. Increasingly distanced from his older flatmate and his best friend, and facing a quarter-life crisis, he makes a decision that could have damaging consequences.
